Our Story

It was always music that brought them together. From the moment the they spoke for the first time, it was music. She had heard him sing at a high school concert when she was only 14, and he was 15, and she said to herself, "I absolutely have to tell him how wonderful his voice is." So she approached him where he stood, waiting for his family in the lobby after the concert. "You've got a really great voice," she said to the strange boy. He looked up, surprised, and responded, "Thanks, I guess." And that was it.

About a year later the two of them found themselves in the same jazz singing group in high school, and were briefly acquainted. On a dark bus ride back from a rehearsal, they sat in opposing seats and talked a bit about their experience in music. Then she started to sing a familiar Disney song that was one of her favourites, and he froze completely. He had never heard a more beautiful sound in his life. After he managed to gather himself up again, he told he he'd never heard anything like it. And she blushed, though he couldn't see in the dark.

The two met again, a few months later in choir class. They'd just been assigned a singing project, and had to put together a piece independently, and perform it on stage at the Festival of the Arts. They decided to join forces and sing a duet from the movie "Aladdin." After many long hours of working on the piece together, and having a blast, they finally performed it on stage. The two took home a trophy that day.

After months of brief meetings due to their involvement in the youth Praise & Worship band, as well as their various involvements in their church, they finally managed to make a planned get together. He approached her in school and asked her to give him a ride home, and on the way she asked if he'd like to come over to help her babysit later in the evening. He happily agreed, and that evening since she didn't have to babysit after all, the two of them walked all over town talking about their hopes and dreams, their struggles and successes. They ended up at a little warm up shack at the local pond and skating rink, where they shared the deepest secrets of their hearts. That was the night they fell in love.

It's now been over 4 years since that fateful night, and they've been inseparable ever since.
